2026-3-13
On March 13, the three-day 2026 Chengdu International Industrial Fair (CDIIF) concluded successfully at the Western China International Expo City. As the first major industrial event in central and western China in the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, CDIIF 2026 was held under the theme “Innovate Industry Chain, Make a Low-Carbon Future.” The exhibition covered more than 50,000 square meters. It brought together over 550 exhibitors from around the world and drew 50,372 visits. With forward-looking industry insights and many cooperation outcomes, CDIIF 2026 injected strong early-year momentum into the high-quality development of western China’s manufacturing sector.
Opening Exhibition of the Year Highlights Western China’s Industrial Vitality
After five successful editions, CDIIF has grown into a landmark platform for manufacturing exchange and cooperation in western China. CDIIF 2026 featured many highlights: AI is moving quickly beyond concept to real industrial applications; demand for domestic technology solutions continues to rise, unleashing strong innovation momentum among local companies; cross-regional industrial collaboration, especially within the Chengdu–Chongqing region, is accelerating; and pathways toward zero-carbon manufacturing are becoming clearer, with green transformation flourishing across the board. Together, these trends paint a vivid picture of high-quality manufacturing growth unfolding across western China.
The timing of CDIIF 2026 is particularly opportune. At the first “Ministers’ Corridor” of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng stated that in 2026, China will vigorously promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing. Positioned as a forerunner, CDIIF is precisely aligned with the post-Spring Festival industrial recovery, effectively responding to the urgent needs of regional manufacturing for intelligent and digital transformation. It stands as a vivid example of how national strategies are taking root in western China.
